I'm a single mother, Canadian lawyer, and educator. I'm also on a mission to close the gender wealth gap.

The financial system was created by men for men, and it's been gatekept for too long. As women we've been taught that we're not good with money, and it's rude or impolite to talk about money.

If we don't talk about money we can't gain the knowledge we need to better our financial wellness. I'm here to change that.

Money was a source of stress in my marriage. As a result, we didn't talk about money, and we outsourced all money matters to a financial planner (and paid the associated fees).

When I left my marriage, I took control of my finances, made a plan for my future and my kids' future, and learned that money doesn't have to be a source of stress - it can be a source of empowerment.
